Bellingham Capital Management
Bellingham Capital Management came to me with a problem. For compliance purposes, they had to get text messages from their agent’s phones into their CRM software. Of course, they could have someone manually type them into the CRM software, but that would take a long time and be error-prone.
The solution that I devised with Bellingham Capital Management would be to use an app on the app store to export the messages to HTML files. I then wrote scripts that would take those HTML files and parse them into a format that the CRM software could understand. There were a few problems to overcome. The scripts would have to match the sender of the text message with the customer id in the CRM software, make sure it understood if the agent was the one sending or receiving the message, and format the characters for import.
The project made a daunting task, if done manually, into a straightforward job that could be done in the space of a few minutes.
